Hannah M. Pingree (born October 18, 1976) is an American politician who was the 99th speaker of the Maine House of Representatives from 2008 to 2010. She is a member of the Democratic Party. She is currently the Democratic nominee for governor of Maine in the 2026 election.
She is the daughter of US representative Chellie Pingree. Pingree represented the 36th district from 2002 to 2010.[1][2] She was director of the Office of Policy Innovation and the Future under Governor Janet Mills from 2019 to 2025.[3]
2026 gubernatorial election
In June 2025, Pingree announced her candidacy for governor of Maine in the 2026 election. She won the Democratic nomination on June 9, 2026, and will face Republican Robert B. Charles and independent Rick Bennett in the general election.[4]
