The Great Replacement is a far-right and racist conspiracy theory that believes mass immigration is controlled by globalist elites or jews and that immigration is a threat to the existence of their nation. The conspiracy theory comes from France, but has also spread to other nations, most notably the United States, Germany and the United Kingdom. The theory often uses statistics of declining birth rates among "white" people and declining "white" percentage of the population, not acknowledging that immigration was always present in Europe, with "white" people never being even close to extinction. The theory is mostly used to incite fear. Many far-right shooters believe in the theory, most notably Brenton Tarrant, a white nationalist and ecofascist who killed more than 50 Muslims in two mosques in Christchurch.[1][2][3][4]
