Friedrich Achleitner (23 May 1930 – 27 March 2019) was an Austrian poet and architecturecritic. He was a member of the Wiener Gruppe, a small movement of Austrian writers. He wrote concretepoems and experimentalliterature. His main writings were on Austrian architecture in the 20th century. These works were written over many years, and included Achleitner visiting each building he talked about. He was professor of the history and theory of architecture at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. He won many awards in his lifetime. He was awarded the Schelling Architecture Theory Prize in 2008.
