F-Zero Maximum Velocity (F-Zero for Game Boy Advance in Japan) is a 2001 futuristic racing video game published by Nintendo and developed by Nintendo R&D1 and Nd Cube.[3] It was released for the Game Boy Advance and for the Virtual Console for the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. F-Zero: Maximum Velocity was released on March 21, 2001 in Japan, June 11, 2001 in North America, on June 20, 2001 in Australia, and on June 22, 2001 in Europe.[4] It was the first F-Zero game to be released on a handheld game console. The game takes place twenty-five years after F-Zero and is the only F-Zero game without Captain Falcon.

Reception

IGN rated the game a 9 out of 10. Craig Harris of IGN called the game "an amazing achievement for the Game Boy Advance".[5] GameSpot rated the game 8.1 out of 10. Shane Satterfield of GameSpot said that the game was "a challenging yet addictive racer" and that "With plenty of tracks to unlock, vehicles to master, and multiplayer modes to explore, it won't be headed for trade-in anytime soon".[6]

Famitsu magazine scored the game a 31 out of 40 when it released.[7]
