History
Exact was founded in 1984 by 6 freelancers Eduard Hagens, Rinus Dekker, Arco van Nieuwland, Paul van Keep, Paul Frijling and Leo Schonk.[1][2][1]
In 1995, the company opened offices in the United Kingdom and Russia.[3]
During next few years, Exact expanded in the international level by acquiring several companies:

- German firms Pcas, Bavaria Soft, Szymaniak (1997), Soft Research (1999)[2]

- Dutch firms Reeleezee (2017),[9] Parentix, ProQuro and SRXP (2018)
In 2015, a group of investors led by Apax bought the company.[10]
In 2019, it was acquired by investor KKR.
