Ethyl methyl ether, also called methoxyethane, is an organic compound. It has the chemical formula CH3OC2H5. It is the simplest non-symmetric ether.
Unlike the related symmetric compounds, dimethyl ether and diethyl ether, ethyl methyl ether is not commonly used in the chemical industry. It is occasionally studied to help understand reactions of other ethers.[1][2]
