Ella's Kitchen (Brands) Limited,[1] trading as Ella's Kitchen, is a company that makes organic food for babies and toddlers. It was started in 2004 by Paul Lindley.

History

Paul Lindley had previously worked as a senior manager at Nickelodeon. He then started Ella's Kitchen (named after his daughter Ella) with £25,000 of savings.[5] Sainsbury's was the first retailer to sell their products, starting in early 2006.[6] The products became popular after Nickelodeon began advertising them. This happened after Ella's Kitchen agreed to share part of its profits with them.[5]

In 2009, the company expanded to Sweden, Norway and the United States. By 2014, it was the United Kingdom's best-selling baby food company.[6] Hain Celestial Group bought the company in 2013.[7]

Products

Ella's Kitchen sells about 80 food products for babies and toddlers, including smoothies and snacks. It is the first brand to sell pouches of baby food.[8][9]
