Elazar Menachem Man Shach (Hebrew: אלעזר מנחם מן שך, Elazar Shach; January 1, 1899 O.S. – November 2, 2001) was a Lithuania-born Israeli rabbi and posek. He was born in Vabalninkas (Vaboilnik in Yiddish), Lithuania, but he fled to Palestine for fear of the Holocaust. Rabbi-Shach was thought to be a very leading authority in Haredi Jewish society.^[1][2]
