Derek Anthony Redmond (born 3 September 1965) is a former British sprinter. During his career, he held the record for the 400 metres sprint. He won gold medals in the 4x400 metres relay at the World Championships and European Championships.[1]
In August 2014, Redmond was one of two hundred public figures who were signatories to a letter to The Guardian. It opposed Scottish independence in the run-up to September's referendum on that issue.[2]
Redmond previously served as Director of Development for sprints and hurdles for UK Athletics.
In 2015, Redmond joined psychometric assessment provider Thomas International as their Group Performance Director.[3]
