David H. Burr

David H. Burr (born 1803-died 1875[1]) was an American map maker and worked for the Surveyor General of the United States.[2] He was also Surveyor General of Utah. He stopped being a lawyer and became a surveyor. He worked for the state of New York. He made an atlas in 1829.[1] He was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He lived in New York in 1822. He became a lawyer. He then joined the militia for New York.[1] He would make many more, including atlases of America.[2] He became the official geographer of the House of Representatives in the United States.[2] He moved to Utah and became their surveyor general. He stopped doing surveying and became a full-time map maker in 1857.[1]
