Daniel Alan Webster (born April 27, 1949) is an American politician. He has been a member of the United States House of Representatives since 2011.
On September 28, 2015, Webster announced that he was running for Speaker of the House to replace John Boehner .[ 1] He lost the race to Wisconsin congressman Paul Ryan .
