Cross stitch
Cross-stitch is a form of sewing and embroidery. It involves making X-shaped stitches on special woven fabric.
Materials
Aida cloth is a common fabric for cross stitch projects.[1] It is easily countable because its weave creates a grid of squares that is easy to see. At each corner, there are holes for the needle to pass through.[1]
Linen is also used for cross stitch.[2]

Types
In stamped cross-stitch, the stitcher uses fabric that has designs printed on it. The stitcher simply stitches over the printed pattern.[3]
In counted cross-stitch, the stitcher counts threads on the fabric rather than using a stamped pattern.[4]
