Copaganda

Copaganda is when the media show police officers in a good way, and do not show the bad actions that they do. The word is a portmanteau of cop and propaganda, and is used by Black Lives Matter activists.[1] Showing police in a good way is not thought to be true for many working class, indigenous, brown, and black people.[2][3][4][5]

Since the George Floyd protests, the term has been used more to criticize the media.

History

Although the term is quite new, copaganda has been around for a long time.
