Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie (born September 15, 1977) is an award-winning Nigerian writer. She comes from Abba in Anambra State, southeast Nigeria. Her book Half of a Yellow Sun won the 2007 Orange Prize for fiction (later named Women's Prize for Fiction).[1]
Adichie was born in Enugu into an Igbo family. She married Ivara Alistair Esege, a Nigerian doctor[clarification needed].[2]

In December 2013 Beyoncé released her fifth album BEYONCÉ. The eleventh song on the album "Flawless" has a sample from Adichie's TED Talk "Why We Should All Be Feminists". Adichie's sample on the album caused her novel Americanah go up around 600 places in the Amazon chart.[3]
