William Forrester Owens (born October 22, 1950) is an American former politician. He was the 40th Governor of Colorado from 1999 to 2007. He is a member of the Republican Party. He was re-elected in 2002 by the largest majority in state history.^[5] He was known for making transportation, education and tax cuts during his time as governor.^[6]
