Beryllium oxide

Beryllium oxide, also called beryllia, is a chemical compound made of beryllium and oxygen. It has the chemical formula BeO. It is a refractory ceramic, and the third major use of beryllium after the pure metal and beryllium alloys.[1] It can also be an intermediate in the production of beryllium metal or its alloys.[2]

Production

Beryllium oxide can be produced by thermolysis of beryllium sulfate.[2]
