Bernice Resnick Sandler (March 3, 1928 – January 5, 2019) was an American women's rights activist.[1][2][3] Sandler was best known for being the cause of the creation of Title IX, a portion of the Education Amendments of 1972.[4][5][6][7]
She has been called "the Godmother of Title IX" by The New York Times.[8]
Sandler died on January 5, 2019 Washington, D.C. at the age of 90.[9]
