Beisfjord Bridge

The Beisfjord Bridge (Norwegian: Beisfjordbrua) is a bridge in Narvik, Nordland, Norway.

The 375-metre-long birdge crosses Beisfjorden, connecting Ankenesstranda, and Fagernes.[1][2][3]

History

The first Beisfjord bridge opened in 1943, by the Germans occupying Norway.[4][5] The German-built bridge was later demolished, and the current bridge opened in 1959.[2][3]

There are still some parts of the German bridge, as some girders still remain.[3][source?]
