The Battle of the Camel (also known as Battle of Jamel or the Battle of Basra) is a war that took place outside Basra, Iraq, in 36 AH (656 CE). The battle was fought between Ali's army, on one side, and the rebel army led by Aisha, Talha, and Zubayr.[1][2] Ali was the cousin and son-in-law of the prophet Muhammad, Aisha was a widow of the prophet Muhammad, and Talha and Zubayr were fellow companions of the prophet Muhammad.
