Anna Mae Yu Lamentillo (/ænəmeɪjuləmɛnˈtɪloʊ/(listen)AN-uhmayyooluh-men-TEE-yoh; born February 7, 1991)[10] is a Filipino government official, academic, columnist and author. Spanning a career of eight years in the civil service, Lamentillo worked under four different administrations. In November 2022, she was appointed Undersecretary for Public Affairs and Foreign Relations in the Department of Information and Communications Technology. To date, she is the youngest Filipino to hold the post.[11][12] Prior to this, she was Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs of the same department.[13]
From December 2016 to October 2021, Lamentillo assumed the role as chairperson of the Build, Build, Build Committee of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)[3] and as concurrent chairperson of the Infrastructure Cluster Communications Committee.[14]
Lamentillo is a graduate of University of the Philippines-Los Banos (UPLB), where she graduated cum laude and was given a distinction, the Faculty Medal for Academic Excellence, for obtaining the highest General Weighted Average for Development Journalism Majors of her batch. She also holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of the Philippines Diliman and an executive certificate from the Harvard Kennedy School. Currently, she is pursuing a masters degree at the London School of Economics.
She holds the rank of Auxiliary Commodore (one-star general) at the Philippine Coast Guard.[6][7]
