Anna Manwah Lo (MBE) is a former politician and social worker from Northern Ireland. She is best known for being the first politician from an ethnic minority to be elected to the Northern Ireland Assembly and the first politician of Chinese ethnicity elected to a legislative assembly in the United Kingdom. A member of the Alliance Party of Northern Ireland, Anna Lo served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Belfast South from 2007 to 2016.[1]
Early life and education
Anna Lo was born in Hong Kong and spent her early years in the city before moving to the United Kingdom. She pursued studies in social work and, upon moving to Northern Ireland, became involved in various social and community services.[2]
