Andrew Scott (born October 21, 1976) is an Irish actor. He has won a BAFTA Television Award and two Laurence Olivier Awards. He was also nominated for three Primetime Emmy Award and two Golden Globe Awards.
Scott became well known for playing James Moriarty in the BBC series Sherlock (2010–2017).[1] He later starred as a priest in Fleabag (2019).[2][3]
He is also known for his roles in the movies Pride (2014), Spectre (2015), and 1917 (2019).
Scott was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor for his starring role in the romantic drama movie All of Us Strangers (2023).
In 2024, he starred as Tom Ripley in the thriller series Ripley, for which he received a nomination for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor.[4]
Scott is openly gay.[5]
