Amélie de Montchalin (19 June 1985, Lyon, France) is a French politician and economist, Secretary of State for European Affairs since March 2019. She was a member of the National Assembly between 2017 and 2019.

Biography

Born on June 19, 1985 in Lyon. Graduated from HEC Paris and Harvard Kennedy School.[1] Worked at Axa and BNP Paribas. Close to the Juppetismo orbit, although she did not become a member of the UMP/LR, she joined La Republique en Marche in December 2016. She was elected as a deputy to the National Assembly in the 2017 legislative elections for the sixth constituency of Essonne. In March 2019, she was appointed Secretary of State for European Affairs.[2]

Following the appointment of Jean Castex as Prime Minister in July 2020, she was appointed Minister for Transformation and the Public Service.[3]
