Amberscript is a SaaS software company based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.[1] Amberscript's technology allows converting audio or video files to subtitles or text.[2]

History

The company was founded in December 2017 in Amsterdam by Peter-Paul de Leeuw, Thomas Dieste, and Timo Behrens.[3]

The first product was a speech-to-text in Dutch, an online tool that converts audio into an editable text file.[4]

In late 2018, the company made manual transcription and subtitling services available.[5]

In November 2020, Amberscript launched live captions with the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.[6]
