Alan David Purwin (c. 1962 – September 11, 2015) was an American helicopter pilot, entrepreneur and philanthropist. He was known for being the aerial movie operator Transformers, Star Trek, and Jurassic World. Purwin was born in Los Angeles, California.
On September 11, 2015, Purwin died as a passenger in a plane crash near Santa Fe de Antioquia, Colombia, during the shooting of the movie Mena.[1] He was 53 years old.[2]
