AI boom
An AI boom[1][2] is the time period where the quick growth of artificial intelligence (AI) took place. The current boom is ongoing. The original boom started from 2010 to 2016,[3] but saw increase in the 2020s.
Examples of this include generative AI technologies, such as large language models and AI image generators created by companies like OpenAI. This period is sometimes known as an AI spring.[4][5]
As of 2025, ChatGPT is the 4th most visited website globally, surpassed only by Google, YouTube, and Facebook.[6][7]
