Video asistentsko referisanje (engl. video assistant referee), skraćeno VAR, je sistem provjere toka igre tokom fudbalskih mečeva. Isti koristi glavni sudija tako što ode do specijalnog ekrana na kojem je usporeni detaljni isječak video snimka spornog dijela meča. Svrha je minimiziranje ljudskih grešaka koje utiču na tok igre (same fudbalere, njihovu pratnju, publiku na stadionu, te publiku koja gleda prenos mečeva uživo u domovima).

Opis

VAR je postao pravilo u fudbalu po odobrenju IFAB-a (engl. International Football Association Board – dosl. ’Internacionalni fudbalski asocijacijski odbor’) godine 2018.[1] Operirajući vodeći se principom „minimalna interferencija, maksimalni benefit” (engl. "minimal interference, maximum benefit"),[2][3] sistemom VAR teži se da se omogući korigovanje „jasnih i očiglednih grešaka” (engl. clear and obvious errors) i „ozbiljnih incidenata-promašaja” (engl. serious missed incidents).[4]

Takmičenja koja uključuju VAR-om potvrđene mečeve su mečevi „uživo” (engl. live); tada je glavni sudija (onaj u terenu većinu vremena igre) VAR-om provjeravao sporan dio meča i pri tome lično ostvario uticaj na krajnji ishod tj. rezultat utakmice.[5]

Takođe postoji ideja uvođenja VAR-a u mečevima futsala.[6]
