Manastir Lepenac je muški manastir Eparhije kruševačke Srpske pravoslavne crkve iz 15. veka. Manastir se nalazi na desnoj obali reke Rasine, i udaljen je od glavnog puta Brus-Kruševac svega 700 metara. Manastir posvećen Svetom Stefanu spada u jedne od najvećih i najlepših manastira Moravske škole i tog vremena uopšte.

Predstavlja nepokretno kulturno dobro kao spomenik kulture.

Prošlost manastira

Manastir je sagradio nepoznati ktitor, a izgradnja se odvijala u dva navrata. Temelji manastira nikli su u 14. veku, ali zbog smrti ktitora, zid crkve bio je izgrađen svega tri metra visine. Nakon kraćeg perioda, nastavljena je izgradnja manastira ali sa skromnim umetničkim i materijalnim mogućnostima. Komunisti su ubili igumana manastira Lepenca, Ignjatija Markovića, 1944. godine. Ubili su ga u Đerakarama, a njegovo mrtvo i unakaženo telo su bacili u neku jarugu. Telo nikada nije pronađeno, a kosti su odnele vodene bujice.[1]

Manastirska crkva

Manastirska crkva je imala osnovu sažetog trikonhosa sa pripratom i kube koje je trebalo da počiva na pilastrima. Sve apside su spolja višestrane, iznutra polukružne. Sa dužinom od preko 20 m predstavlja jednu od najvećih građevina moravske škole. Stariji način zidanja po uzoru na spomenike moravske škole sačuvan je u visini od oko 2 m.[2]

Manastir je od velike važnosti za celu Brusku opštinu kao kulturno, versko i turističko mesto. Takođe, manastir je nekoliko puta obnavljan, a zadnja veća obnova bila je sedamdesetih godina 20. veka.
