Karl C. Agathon (pozivni znak "Helo") je izmišljeni lik kolonijalnog pilota u novoj verziji TV-serije Battlestar Galactica, a koga je tumačio Tahmoh Penikett.

Fiktivna biografija

Agathon je rodom sa Caprice. Tamo se priključio Kolonijalnoj floti i neko vrijeme studirao na vojnoj akademiji zajedno sa Karom Thrace; sa njom je postao izuzetno dobar prijatelj, najviše zahvaljujući zajedničkoj sklonosti piću. Agathon je napredovao do čina poručnika, te dobio smještaj na svemirsku krstaricu Galactica.

Na samom početku serije je Agathon služio kao ko-pilot, odnosno oficir za elektronske kontramjere na "Raptoru" kojim je pilotirala poručnica Sharon "Boomer" Valeri. Njih dvoje je zatekao sajlonski napad tokom koga je "Raptor" oštećen i prisiljen spustiti se na Capricu. Tokom opravki "Raptor" opsjeda gomila izbjeglica i Agathon, smatrajući da je briljantni znanstvenik važniji za nastavak rata od njega samog, žrtvuje svoje mjesto u "Raptoru" za Gaiusa Baltara i ostaje na Caprici.

Agathon tokom sljedećih nekoliko mjeseci uspije preživjeti na Caprici, ne znajući da ga Sajlonci promatraju i nastoje iskoristiti u eksperimentu čiji je cilj stvaranje ljudsko-sajlonskog hibrida. U tu svrhu je regrutirana regrutirana kopija Broj Osam, koja izgleda identitično kao i "Boomer". Ona mu se pod lažnim identitetom pridruži i zavede ga. Rezultat toga je njena trudnoća, ali i to da se kopija Broj Osam (koja će kasnije biti poznata kao "Athena") u njega zaljubila. Agathon joj počne vjerovati nakon što mu prizna da je Sajlonka. Poslije koristi priliku da njega i Starbuck (koja je u međuvremenu došla na Capricu tražiti Apolonovu strijelu) vrati u flotu.

Agathon, pogotovo kada dozna za trudnoću, ostaje privržen svojoj kopiji Broj Osam te se zbog njeg sukobi sa oficirom sa Pegasusa koji je mislio ispitivati kroz mučenje; incident završava smrću oficira, te su Agathon i Tyrol osuđeni na smrt od strane Helena Cain. Presuda je poništena nakon njene smrti, te se Agathon vraća u flotu te vrši niz odgovornih dužnosti. Kasnije se zajedno sa suprugom, koja nosi nadimak "Athena", pridruži kćeri Heri Agathon za koju mu je ispočetka bilo rečeno da je umrla pri porodu.

Prilikom pobune koje su pokrenuli Felix Gaeta i Tom Zarek Agathon je teško ranjen u nogu. Na samom kraju serije se šepajući, zajedno sa Herom i "Athenom" priključuje kolonistima na Zemlji. Epilog navodi da je upravo Hera mitohondrijska Eva, odnosno Karl Agathon tako praotac svih modernih ljudi.
