Иоганн Карл Лот (нем. Johann Karl Loth, известный также, как Карл, Карел, Карлотто и Карло Лотти[6], 8 августа 1632, Мюнхен — 6 ноября 1698, Венеция) — немецкий исторический живописец и график эпохи барокко, представитель караваджизма.

Биография

Родился в семье Иоганна Ульриха Лота. Начальные художественные навыки получил в домашних условиях у отца—художника и матери — миниатюристки-иллюминатора. Сформировался, как художник в Германии.

Часто переезжал с места на место. Около 1650 г. уехал в Италию и поселился в Венеции, где провëл основную часть жизни. Много путешествовал, посетил Рим и другие города Италии. Получил уменьшительное имя Карлотто.

Учился у венецианского художника Пьетро Либери. Первоначально был подвержен подражанию Караваджо, а в более поздних работах ощутимо влияние манеры Пьетро да Кортона, основанной на принципах классицизма мастеров болонской школы.

Оказал влияние на местных мастеров, в частности, учеником Иоганна Карла Лота был Иоганн Михаэль Роттмайр.

Творчество

Писал полотна, в основном, на религиозные и мифологические сюжеты, а также портреты. Изображал крупные полнокровные фигуры, привносил элементы жанровости в духе фламандских мастеров. Композиции, жесты, типажи персонажей холстов живописца, богатство колористического решения, динамичный мазок в традиции мастеров Северной Италии, мягкое, но эффектное освещение, свобода фантазии сделали имя Иоганна Карла Лота известным среди европейских коллекционеров, его произведения удовлетворяли вкусам аристократических заказчиков.

Произведения живописца имеются в мюнхенской, кассельской, брауншвейгской, венской и других галереях мира.
