Уильям Бонвилл (англ. William Bonville; 1442 — 30 декабря 1460, при Уэйкфилде, Йоркшир, Королевство Англия) — английский аристократ, внук 1-го барона Бонвилла, 6-й барон Харингтон с 1458 года. В Войнах Алой и Белой розы поддержал Йорков и погиб в битве при Уэйкфилде.

Биография

Уильям Бонвилл принадлежал к одному из самых влиятельных семейств юго-запада Англии. Его дед, носивший то же имя, с 1445 года носил титул барона Бонвилла; мать Уильяма-младшего Элизабет была дочерью и наследницей Уильяма Харингтона, 5-го барона Харингтона. Она умерла при жизни своего отца, так что в 1458 году, когда умер 5-й барон Харингтон, 16-летний Уильям Бонвилл стал его преемником — 6-м бароном[1].

В том же году Бонвилл женился на леди Кэтрин Невилл — дочери Ричарда Невилла, 5-го графа Солсбери, и Элис Монтегю. Как и Невиллы, Бонвиллы поддержали Йорков в Войнах Алой и Белой розы. В битве при Уэйкфилде 30 декабря 1460 года Уильям погиб, его тело было брошено на поле боя[2]. Дед Бонвилла по отцовской линии на тот момент был ещё жив, так что Уильям-младший не успел стать 2-м бароном Бонвиллом. Он оставил дочь Сесилию, ставшую женой сначала Томаса Грея, 1-го маркиза Дорсета (тот стал бароном Харингтоном и Бонвиллом по праву жены), а после его смерти — Генри Стаффорда, графа Уилтшира[3][4].

Вдова Уильяма Бонвилла вступила во второй брак с Уильямом Гастингсом, 1-м бароном Гастингсом из Эшби де Ла Зуш, от которого родила ещё шестерых детей[5].
