International Data Corporation (IDC) — международная исследовательская и консалтинговая компания, основанная в 1964 году и занимающаяся изучением мирового рынка информационных технологий и телекоммуникаций. Является подразделением издательской компании International Data Group со штаб-квартирой в Фреймингхеме, штат Массачусетс. По собственным данным на IDC работают более 1100 аналитиков в 110 странах мира, которые собирают и обрабатывают информацию о местных рынках ИТ[1].

История

Компания IDC была основана Патриком Макговерном в 1964 году, когда он провёл исследования компьютерного рынка для UNIVAC, Xerox и Burroughs. Для проведения анализов он нанимал студентов. Через 3 года доход компании составил 600 000 долларов[2].

IDC в России и странах СНГ

Представительство компании IDC в России было открыто в 1995 году. С 2002 года его возглавляет региональный директор Роберт Фариш, являющийся также вице-президентом компании в странах СНГ[3][4]. По собственным данным Российское представительство IDC ежегодно публикует более 30 исследований и проводит около 20 мероприятий[1].
