История

Эр и Луар — один из первых департаментов, образованных во время Великой французской революции в марте 1790 года. Возник на территории бывших провинций Орлеане, Перш и Шартрен. Название происходит от рек Эр и Луар, являющихся соответственно притоками Сены и Луары.
