Швигов (чеш. Švihov), бывш. Швихау (нем. Schwihau) — город на юго-западе Чешской Республики, в районе Клатови Пльзенского края.

История

Первые письменные упоминания относятся к 1245 году. В 1480 году был выстроен каменный замок в готическом стиле. Во времена Тридцатилетней войны город был разграблен шведскими войсками, но замок взят не был.

География

Расположен в 10 км к северу от города Клатови, на реке Углава, на высоте 374 м над уровнем моря.

По данным переписи 2001 года 97,6 % населения города составляли чехи; 1,1 % — украинцы и 0,6 % — словаки. 36 % населения считали себя верующими. Доля лиц в возрасте до 15 лет — 14,1 %.
