Чемпионат СССР по шахматам среди женщин 1983

Чемпионат СССР по шахматам среди женщин 1983 года — сорок третий чемпионат СССР по шахматам среди женщин проходил с 16 ноября по 12 декабря в Вильнюсе.

Состязались 18 участниц: призёры 42-го чемпионата, победительницы полуфиналов, персонально приглашённые: Нона Гаприндашвили и Н. Гуриели, по кандидатскому списку — К. Багинскайте и С. Матвеева. После 5 туров лидировала Гуриели (5 очков), после 14 — Л. Мучник, выигравшая все партии в 7—14-м турах. Перед заключительным туром Е. Ахмыловская, Гаприндашвили и Мучник имели по 11½ очков, Гуриели — 11. В последнем туре из лидеров выиграла лишь Гаприндашвили, которая в 4-й раз стала чемпионкой страны, — 12½ очков. 2—3-е места разделили Ахмыловская, Мучник по 12 очков.
