Терраса

Терра́са (фр. terrasse «площадка»), Тера́са[1] — земляная насыпь с площадкою; раскат, насыпное возвышенье; широкое, просторное крыльцо, особенно каменное, горизонтальная или слегка наклонённая площадка, ограниченная уступом:

  • Терраса, в архитектуре — открытый настил на подготовленном основании (как правило, опорах).
  • Терраса в парках и садах — горизонтальная площадка естественного или искусственного происхождения, образующая уступ на склоне местности.
  • На земной поверхности террасы бывают речными, озёрными и морскими. Их образование связано с геологической деятельностью поверхностных вод и структурными особенностями, обусловленными геологическим строением:
  • Террасное земледелие — земледелие, основанное на заливке разноуровневых площадок земли.
