Гидрология

Гидроло́гия (греч. Yδρoλoγια, от Yδωρ — вода + Λoγos — слово, учение) — наука, изучающая природные воды, их взаимодействие с атмосферой и литосферой, а также явления и процессы, в них протекающие (испарение, замерзание и т. п.).

Предметом изучения гидрологии являются все виды вод гидросферы в океанах, морях, реках, озерах, водохранилищах, болотах, почвенные и подземные воды.

Гидрология подразделяется на океанологию, гидрологию суши и гидрогеологию.

Избранная личность

Борис Евгеньевич Веденеев (21 декабря 1885 (2 января 1884), Тифлис, — 29 сентября 1946, Москва) — русский и советский учёный, энергетик и гидротехник. Лауреат Сталинской премии первой степени (1943). Родился в Тифлисе. Окончил Петербургский институт инженеров путей сообщения в 1909 году. В начале XX века занимался проектированием портовых сооружений у Мурманска и на Дальнем Востоке.

Участвовал в проектировании гидростанции на Днепре. После Октябрьской революции 1917 года принимал участие в разработке плана ГОЭЛРО. Был одним из руководителей возведения Днепровской и Волховской ГЭС.

Академик АН СССР (1932). Депутат ВС СССР 1—2 созывов (с 1937 года). Скончался 25 сентября 1946 года. Похоронен в Москве на Новодевичьем кладбище.

В 1946 году имя Б. Е. Веденеева было присвоено Всесоюзному научно-исследовательскому институту гидротехники в Ленинграде (ныне ОАО «ВНИИГ имени Б. Е. Веденеева»).
