Род Гротов в России:

  • Грот, Ефим Христианович (1733—1799) — пастор церкви Св. Екатерины на Васильевском острове, основал в Санкт-Петербурге «Общество для смертных случаев», ввёл страхование жизни в России.
  • Грот, Карл Ефимович (1770—1818) — его сын, чиновник Департамента государственных имуществ, выслужил российское дворянство.
    • Грот, Яков Карлович (1812—1893) — сын Карла, лингвист и историк литературы, вице-президент Российской академии наук, профессор Гельсингфорсского и Санкт-Петербургского университетов. Его жена — Грот, Наталья Петровна (1828—1899) — писательница[1].
      • Грот, Николай Яковлевич (1852—1899) — русский философ-идеалист, психолог; профессор Московского университета, председатель Московского психологического общества, первый редактор журнала «Вопросы философии и психологии» (с 1889)
