Геттарда (лат. Guettarda) — род тропических и субтропических, деревянистых растений семейства Мареновые (Rubiaceae).

Ботаническое описание

Геттарда шероховатая (Guettarda scabra), листья и плоды

Вечнозелёные кустарники или деревья. Листья супротивные или мутовчатые, простые, обычно с домациями. Прилистники рано опадающие, межчерешковые, в целом треугольные.

Обоеполые либо обоеполые и тычиночные или пестичные цветки со сладким ароматом собраны в короткие, разветвлённые, пазушные, цимозные соцветия. Чашечка трубчатая или почти колокольчатая. Венчик белый или розовый, с трубкой; долей 4—9. Тычинок 4—9. Завязь 4—9-гнёздная, в каждом гнезде по 1 семяпочке. Плоды — крупные, красные, пурпурные, чёрные или зелёные, многосемянные ягоды. Семена средние, эллипсовидные, прямые или изогнутые; семенная кожура перепончатая.
