Classes

Pucciniomycotina é um subfilo de Basidiomycota, que inclui as ferrugens, o género parasítico/simbiótico de insectos Septobasidium, um antigo grupo de carvões (em Microbotryomycetes, inclui algumas leveduras espelho), e uma mistura de fungos estranhos, raramente vistos ou reconhecidos, muitos deles parasitas de plantas. As nove classes de Pucciniomycotina são: Agaricostilbomycetes, Atractiellomycetes, Classiculomycetes, Cryptomycocolacomycetes, Cystobasidiomycetes, Microbotryomycetes, Mixiomycetes, Pucciniomycetes,[2] e Tritirachiomycetes.[3] Compreende cerca de 8 000 espécies, 90 % das quais são ferrugens.
