O Londrina Basquete Clube, mais conhecido como Londrina Basquete ou simplesmente Londrina, foi um clube de basquete brasileiro masculino, com sede em Londrina, Paraná.

História

O Londrina Basquete foi criado em 1996, após uma parceria entre a prefeitura da cidade, através da Autarquia Municipal de Esportes e Turismo (Ametur) e o Grêmio Literário e Recreativo Londrinense, tendo a empresa de transportes coletivos Grande Londrina como patrocinadora. O time foi formado por ex-atletas da Telesp, de São Paulo, e logo no primeiro ano venceu o Campeonato Paranense, conquistando a vaga no Campeonato Nacional de 1997.[1][2] Ainda em 1996 ficou com o vice-campeonato da Liga Nacional B. A equipe conquistou mais três estaduais até 2000, ano em que o Grêmio Londrinense deixou a gestão do time.[3] Para manter o projeto em atividade, foi criado o Londrina Basquete Clube. Com uma nova razão social, a equipe continuou emplacando bons resultados. O Londrina conquistou mais quatro vezes o estado, tornando-se octa-campeão paranaense. Em 2003, foi o quinto colocado no Campeonato Nacional, sendo eliminado pelo Universo/Ajax, de Goiás, nas quartas. Esta foi a melhor colocação alcançada pelo Londrina em uma edição do Campeonato Brasileiro.

Com dificuldades econômicas o LBC foi extinto em 2005.
