José Muniz Ramos (Araripina, 22 de setembro de 1939) é um político brasileiro. Foi deputado estadual e governador do estado de Pernambuco.[1][2] É filho do ex-prefeito de Araripina Manoel Ramos de Barros e neto do, também, ex-prefeito de Araripina Francisco da Rosa Muniz

Biografia

Filho de Manoel Ramos de Barros e de Maria de Lurdes Muniz Ramos. O pai, do Partido Social Democrático (PSD), foi duas vezes prefeito de Araripina (1948-1952 e 1958-1962). Os tios, Sebastião Marinho Muniz Falcão e Djalma Marinho Muniz Falcão, foram respectivamente governador de Alagoas (1955-1960) e deputado federal (1982-1986) e senador (1998-1999).[3]

Bacharel em ciências jurídicas e sociais pela Faculdade de Direito da Universidade Federal de Alagoas em 1966, se elegeu deputado estadual e presidente da Assembléia Legislativa de Pernambuco.[1]

Assumiu o governo de Pernambuco por ser o presidente na Assembléia Legislativa do Estado de Pernambuco (ALEPE), após renúncia do então Governador Marco Maciel, que deixou o mandato para concorrer ao senado federal e do seu vice, Roberto Magalhães, candidato ao Governo do Estado de Pernambuco.[1]
