DSM-5

O Manual Diagnóstico e Estatístico de Transtornos Mentais 5.ª edição ou DSM-5 é um manual diagnóstico e estatístico feito pela Associação Americana de Psiquiatria para definir como é feito o diagnóstico de transtornos mentais. Usado por psicólogos, fonoaudiólogos, médicos e terapeutas ocupacionais. A versão atualizada saiu em maio de 2013 e substitui o DSM-IV criado em 1994 e revisado em 2000. Desde o DSM-I, criado em 1952, esse manual tem sido uma das bases de diagnósticos de saúde mental mais usados no mundo.[1]

Novos diagnósticos

Mudanças nessa nova versão:[2]

  • Transtorno de acumulação: Persistente dificuldade de se desfazer de bens, independentemente de seu valor e utilidade real;
  • Transtorno da oscilação disruptiva do humor: Mudanças de humor bruscas, frequentes e prejudiciais a diversas áreas da vida;
  • Transtorno da compulsão alimentar periódica: Vontade irresistível e frequente de comer excessivamente;
  • Transtorno de hipersexualidade: Adicção em fazer sexo a ponto de prejudicar significativamente áreas da vida;
  • Transtorno de escoriação: Compulsão de arrancar a própria pele até causar ferimentos;
  • Adicção a internet: Usar a internet a ponto de prejudicar seriamente e frequentemente mais de uma área da vida;
  • Transtorno Alimentar Restritivo Evitativo: Distúrbio caracterizado pela recusa de diversos alimentos e alimentação anormal;
