Responsorium

Responsorium (cantus responsorius, śpiew responsorialny, pochodzi z łac. responsum – odpowiedź) – w liturgii godzin krótka modlitwa wykonywana w formie śpiewanej lub recytowanej, w której wierni przeplatają śpiew wykonywany przez solistę refrenem[1]. Responsorium w różnych formach występuje w Godzinie Czytań, Jutrzni, Nieszporach oraz w Komplecie, wykonuje się je zawsze po czytaniu. W Jutrzni i Nieszporach, wedle uznania, responsorium może być pominięte lub zastąpione odpowiednią pieśnią zatwierdzoną przez konferencję episkopatu[2].

Historia

Korzenie formy modlitwy responsoryjnej można odnaleźć już w liturgii żydowskiej. O jej stosowaniu we wczesnym chrześcijaństwie informuje pątniczka Egeria[3]. Od VI wieku responsoria na stałe trafiły do liturgii, były zbierane w księgach liturgicznych zwanych antyfonarzami[1].
