Cultura Clovís

La cultura Clovís es una cultura paleoamericana descobèrta dins la vila del meteis nom (Nòu Mexic) en 1932, que viviá dins las montanhas d'Arizòna, Nòu Mexic e a l'oèst de Tèxas e data de 10 000 aC, pus anciana que la de Folsom. Avián tradicion de caçaires, e lors puntas de sageta son d'òsses de mamot. Lo sit mai polemic se tròba en Tèxas, ont una punta de sageta foguèt datada pel C-14 en 37 000 aC. Aquò podriá significar que las puntas Clovis cambièron pas pendent 27 000 ans, çò qu'es dificil d'acceptar pels arqueològs. Las puntas Clovís son de lamas talhadas, amb los costats o los flancs parallèls o un pauc convèxes amb una sòla concava. L'aspècte de las proporcions de la sòla es un pauc fangós, benlèu per separar lo talh del mange. An una longor de 4 a 13 cm, son pesugas e frisadas, encara que la frisada normalament excedís pas la mitat de la longor. Mantuna variacions de l'èst (Ohio, Cumberland, Suwannee) an d'arestas de peis e una longor relativa pus estrecha. La cultura Clovis es tanben ligada amb d'instruments e d'aisinas d'òs, de martèls de pèira, de gratadors e de puntas de sageta non frisadas.
