The Elder Scrolls III: Tribunal

The Elder Scrolls III: Tribunal er den første utvidelsespakken til Bethesda Softworks' videorollespill The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.[1] Den ble lansert 6. november 2002, omtrent et halvt år etter originalen.[2] Tittelen refererer til «de tre levende gudene», kjent som «the Tribunal».[1][3] Utvidelsen tilfører tempelet (eller byen) «Mournhold» til spillet, som er tilgjengelig gjennom teleportering. Deler av spillsystemet er også forandret. Mest nevneverdig er kanskje en mye forbedret journal, som opprinnelig fikk mye kritikk for å være rotete.[1]

Bloodmoon er navnet på den andre og siste utvidelsen til The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.

Handling

Spillet begynner med at karakteren skal gå i dvale, men blir angrepet av en leiemorder - som senere blir avslørt for å være medlem av Dark Brotherhood, et leiemorder-laug som spenner over hele Tamriel. For å oppdage mer om Dark Brotherhood, skal karakteren bli sendt til Mournhold, hovedstaden i Morrowind. Så snart man har kommet til Mournhold, må karakteren finne lederen til Dark Brotherhood, og gjennomføre en rekke side-oppdrag for den nye kong Helseth og den levende guden Almalexia.

Guden Almalexia har kontrollert Morrowind i tusenvis av år, sammen med sine med-guder Vivec og Sotha Sil, som kaller seg Tribunal - og de blir tilbedt av hele Dark Elf-folket. Etter at karakteren har gjennomført et side-oppdrag, angriper plutselig en gruppe mekaniske skapninger, kalt Fabricants, Plaza Brindisi Dorom. Skapningene dukker opp fra en statue, og etter angrepet deres avsløres det en hemmelig passasje til en Dwemer-ruin. Fordi skapningene er mekaniske, mistenkes det først at den hemmelighetsfulle guden Sotha Sil står bak dette angrepet. Karakteren må deretter undersøke ruinene, og gjennomføre enda flere side-oppdrag, for å rekonstruere Nerevars tapte sverd - kalt Trueflame. Etter å ha anskaffet sverdet, blir karakteren sendt til Clockwork City for å angripe Sotha Sil.

Karakteren fortsetter å utforske alle rommene i Clockwork City, men oppdager til slutt at Sotha Sil allerede er død. Når karakteren forsøker å forlate dette området, dukker Almalexia opp. Hun påstår at hadde drept Sotha Sil og startet angrepet i Mournhold, for å skaffe seg mer makt og kontroll over innbyggerne og resten av Tribunalet. Karakteren blir deretter tvunget til å drepe henne også, før man kan returnere til Mournhold. Ved å ødelegge hjertet etter Prins Lorkhan, og drepe Almalexia, fortsetter karakteren å oppfylle resten av Nerevarine-profetiene-
