Raj Ghat er et minnesmerke i Delhi, India, viet Mahatma Gandhi og andre prominente indere.

Det første minnesmerket på stedet var en svart marmorplattform som ble reist for å markere stedet for Ghandis kremasjon 31. januar 1948, dagen etter drapet. Mot venstre er den åpen mot himmelen, mens en evig flamme alltid brenner i den andre enden. Minnesmerket ligger ved Delhis Ring Road, offisielt kjent som «Mahatma Gandhi Road». En steinlagt sti omgitt av plener fører til det inngjerdede området. Alle besøkende må ta av seg skoene før de går inn til minnesmerket.

Opprinnelig var Raj Ghat navnet på et historisk platå i Old Delhi.[1][2] Raj Ghat kan løselig oversettes til «Kongens elvebredd» og viser til viktigheten av stedet, ved bredden av Yamuna-elven.

Senere er minnekomplekset utvidet til å inkludere samadhis (gravsteder) og kremasjonssteder for andre fremtredende indere, inkludert Jawaharlal Nehru, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, Chandra Shekhar og Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Landskapsarbeidet og beplantingen på disse minnesmerkene ble utført av Alick Percy-Lancaster, den siste engelskmannen i stillingen som Superintendent of Horticultural Operations i India.[3]

Jawaharlal Nehru's samadhi ligger nord for Raj Ghat og er kjent som Shantivan eller Shanti Vana, som betyr «skogens fred». Her ligger også minnesmerket Ekta sthal, stedet hvor K.R. Narayanan, Indias tiende president, ble kremert med fulle statlige æresbevisninger i 2005.

I Raj Ghat-området ligger en park med trær plantet av besøkende embetsmenn og statsoverhoder.
