Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia (ポケモンレンジャー　バトナージ Pokemon Renjā Batonāji, lit. Pokémon Ranger: Batonage) er et rollespill utviklet av HAL Laboratory for spillkonsollen Nintendo DS.

Spillet ble offentliggjort i januar 2008-utgaven av CoroCoro og ble gitt ut 20. mars 2008 i Japan. Det ble annonsert på E3 2008 at spillet ville bli gitt ut i USA med tittelen Shadows of Almia den 10. november 2008 og i Europa 21. november 2008.

Handling

Historien finner sted i en ny region, kalt Almia som ligger langt fra alle de andre regionene man kjenner fra tidligere Pokemon-spill. Almia har et veldig variert landskap, alt fra den varme Haruba-ørkenen til den kjølige Hia-dalen. Spillet begynner ved Ranger School, hvor spilleren skal være student etter å ha fanget en Pikachu. Spilleren blir raskt venner med to av klassekameratene: Rhythmi og Keith. Både spilleren og Keith viser et sterkt potensial som Rangere. Etter uteksaminering fra Ranger School blir spilleren igjen i Almia, samtidig som Keith og Rhythmi reiser til Fiore. Spillerens familie flytter til en nærliggende by, kjent som Chicole Village, og spilleren bor hos dem.

I løpet av denne tiden dukker det opp en ond gruppe i Almia kjent som Team Dim Sun. De bruker maskiner kalt Miniremos og Gigaremos for å kontrollere Pokémon til deres eget bruk. Spilleren blir en Area Ranger, og forsøker å hjelpe innbyggerne i Vientown. Spilleren mottar sitt aller første store oppdrag kort tid senere: Å undersøke en hule i nærheten. I denne hulen blir en rekke Pokémon som befinner seg under tankekontroll oppdaget og reddet, og det viser seg at de ble kontrollert av en Gigaremo-enhet. Spillerens neste store oppdrag blir å finne igjen lederen for Area Rangers-Barlow, som sist ble sett på vei for å undersøke forstyrrelser på den vulkanske øya Boyleland.

Etter å ha utforsket Boyle Volcano, fanger spilleren to av Team Dim Suns vakter, som forteller at Barlow befinner seg på deres store skip som brukes til å transportere Pokémon. Spilleren finner igjen Barlow, og sammen konfronterer de lederen - Mr. Kincaid - som også var leder for Dim Sun. Men Mr. Kincaid flykter. Barlow styrer deretter skipet inn ved verftet til Ranger Academy, hvor oppdraget deres blir erklært som en suksess. Spilleren blir forfremmet til Top Ranger, og neste oppdrag blir å hjelpe Sven - en annen Top Ranger. De skal undersøke gruve-drift arrangert av Dim Sun i Chroma-ruinene. De oppdager at Dim Sun leter etter mørke krystaller for å drive Gigaremo og Miniremo-enhetene deres. De oppdager blant annet en dagbok skrevet av den nå avdøde Brighton Hall, den forrige presidenten av Altru Inc som forsøker å lete etter nye energikilder.
