Parothius er en slekt av biller som hører til underfamilien storkortvinger (Staphylininae) i familien kortvinger (Staphylinidae).
Utseende
Små (ca. 2,5 millimeter), slanke, rødbrunlige kortvinger.
Levevis
Som den slanke, kortbeinte kroppsformen kunne tyde på, er Parothius-artene gravende og tilbringer mye av tiden under jorda. De kan også finnes under steiner. Som vanlig for kortvinger er de rovdyr som lever av ulike slags smådyr.
Utbredelse
Slekten er utbredt i Nord-Amerika.
