Normisjon er en evangelisk luthersk misjonsorganisasjon som organiserer over 70 000 personer over hele Norge, inkludert medlemmene i Acta – barn og unge i Normisjon. I de fleste storbyene har Normisjon egne menighetsfellesskap. Normisjon driver også en utstrakt virksomhet på bedehus og i husfellesskap.

Normisjon ble grunnlagt 1. januar 2001 etter at Den norske Santalmisjon og Det norske lutherske Indremisjonsselskap, samt den langt mindre Langesundsfjordens indremisjonsselskap, fusjonerte. Organisasjonen er en selvstendig bevegelse med tett samarbeid med Den norske kirke og andre lutherske kirkesamfunn. Forløperne hadde ulik profil. Santalmisjonen fokuserte i stor grad på humanitært arbeid med kristen profil i utviklingsland. Indremisjonen hadde fokus på Norge, og også en mer konservativ og folkelig og lavkirkelig profil.

Normisjon har virksomhet over hele Norge gjennom 13 regioner samt i India, Bangladesh, Kambodsja, Ecuador, Mali, Aserbajdsjan, Bhutan, Nepal, Cuba, Senegal, Kambodsja og Thailand.

Generalsekretæren i organisasjonen er Kjetil Vestel Haga.

Historie

Santalmisjonen ble stiftet 1867 av misjonær Lars Olsen Skrefsrud (1840–1910) og Hans Peter Børresen (1825–1901). Det norske lutherske Indremisjonsselskap ble stiftet 1868. De to organisasjonene samt Langesundsfjordens Indremisjonsselskap slo seg sammen i 2001.

Skoler drevet av Normisjon

Normisjons regioner er eier, medeier eller har annen tilknytning til følgende folkehøgskoler: Alta, Bakketun, Bjerkely, Danvik, Sørlandet, Fredly, Grenland, Haugetun, Nordfjord, Nordvestlandet, Risøy, Sagavoll, Solborg og Sunnfjord[1] og Viken. Normisjon er dermed samlet sett verdens største folkehøgskoleeier.

Utgivelser

Agenda 3:16 er Norges største kristne månedsmagasin. Bladet utgis av Normisjon og har som mål å formidle tro og kristne verdier. Bladet er normalt på 60 sider, trykket på glanset papir, stiftet og gjennomgående fire-farger. Opplag i 2018: ca. 8 500.

Organisasjonen utgir også ni regionale blad fem ganger årlig med fokus på hva som skjer i Normisjon lokalt. Gratismagasinet Ferskvare, som i hovedsak omhandler organisasjonens internasjonale arbeid, utgis fire ganger årlig.
